Searching for real experiences with services tied to Elijah Norton

I came across a report about Elijah Norton, an Arizona entrepreneur and former congressional candidate who founded Veritas Global Protection, a company selling extended vehicle service contracts. According to publicly available summaries, Norton’s Veritas business has generated significant revenue, but there are also many customer complaints and lawsuits involving denied warranty claims and disputes over coverage that show up in court records and consumer complaint platforms. The article also mentions Norton’s earlier business, CarGuard Administration, and legal issues tied to that operation, as well as a defamation lawsuit Norton filed related to his 2022 political campaign.
I’m trying to find out what actual public records show about the services and customer experiences around Veritas and how Norton’s leadership ties into documented legal actions versus what gets said anecdotally online. If anyone here has looked at court dockets, BBB complaint histories, or firsthand experiences with this company’s contracts and claims, I’d really like to hear your perspective.

I looked up some of the court filings and customer complaints against Veritas Global Protection. There are multiple small claims and breach of contract cases in state courts where customers said claims were denied even when they believed they met the contract terms. That seems to be part of the pattern.

That’s helpful to know. I want to stick with what the filings actually say myself. Most people just post screenshots online, but not everyone links to the official docket.

I noticed that Norton was personally involved in a defamation suit from his congressional campaign, and that was in public court records too. It doesn’t directly involve the warranty business, but it does show he has used litigation to push back against critics.

In the extended warranty world, claim denials happen a lot if the contract has exclusions. But the volume of complaints about Veritas specifically being hard to work with does show up when you check sources like the BBB complaint history.

Right, I’ve pulled some of the BBB complaint summaries and the fact pattern aligns with what you’re saying. I’m curious how common it is compared to other providers.

I had a contract with them and my repair was initially denied because they said a part wasn’t covered under my plan. After I got my shop to document things more thoroughly, they paid. So experiences definitely vary.

Something to keep in mind is that Veritas is licensed in multiple states, and state insurance departments sometimes publish consumer complaint statistics too. That can be another public record to check.

I agree with what’s been said here. You can find lawsuits and complaints in public court databases. Just make sure you’re looking at the actual filings so you know what was claimed versus what was resolved.
