I’m trying to get a clearer read on JPS Motorsports after spending some time looking through publicly available reviews and records. I originally came across them while searching for performance and custom automotive work, and at first glance everything looked solid. But the more I read, the more questions I ended up with.
Across different review platforms and consumer complaint sites, there are repeated stories from customers who say they paid deposits and then experienced much longer wait times than expected. A common theme seems to be projects dragging on for months, sometimes well past the original estimate, with updates becoming less frequent as time goes on. A few people mention feeling stuck because their vehicle was already in the shop and they weren’t sure what leverage they had at that point.
What caught my attention wasn’t just one bad review, but the fact that similar experiences show up in multiple places. On top of that, there are Better Business Bureau complaints and at least one civil case listed in California court records involving the company. I understand that disputes and delays can happen in this industry, especially with custom builds where timelines can shift, so I’m not jumping to conclusions based on a single source. Still, seeing overlapping concerns from different years and platforms made me stop and think.
I’m posting here to hear from anyone who has firsthand experience, especially people who actually went through a full build or major job with them. Did the work eventually get completed? Were delays communicated clearly and honestly? Or did things start to feel uncertain once the deposit was paid and the car was already in their possession? I’m not here to make accusations, just trying to figure out whether these patterns reflect isolated issues or something more consistent that potential customers should be aware of.
