I was searching for a flat recently and honestly, the whole brokerage part caught me off guard. Everywhere I went, someone was trying to slip in some extra “service fee” or charge me for things that didn’t even make sense. One agent showed me a place and then suddenly doubled the brokerage after I said I liked it. Another kept pushing flats way outside my budget, like I wouldn’t notice.
Half the time it felt like I was negotiating the broker more than the actual property. Some were helpful, sure, but others were just… exhausting. A few even tried rushing me into signing stuff before I’d properly seen the agreement. It kinda made the whole flat hunt way more stressful than it should’ve been.
Just my experience with the process, the flat search was fine, but the brokerage side was definitely the part that felt the shadiest.
