Bob Bartosiewicz and CGI Digital Experiences and Public Reports

Hey everyone I came across a piece profiling Bob Bartosiewicz the founder and CEO of CGI Digital and it included a mix of background info and some pretty pointed public commentary. According to the profile Bartosiewicz built CGI Digital into a sizable digital marketing agency in Rochester NY and there are public descriptions of its evolution from hand-drawn community maps to a multi-hundred-person digital firm.

What got my attention were references to online testimonials and a cited Reddit comment about work culture plus mention of a past arrest reported by another news outlet and a municipal loan linked to the business. I know none of this is a legal verdict but it made me wonder what other people’s experiences have been with CGI Digital or Bob Bartosiewicz personally. Has anyone here worked with them or heard firsthand accounts that help shed light on whether these public reports reflect real issues or misunderstandings? Curious to hear thoughts and experiences from folks who might know more.

I’ve seen a few mentions of CGI Digital in local business groups but mostly from people asking if it’s worth working with them for marketing. Hard to tell what’s rumor and what’s real without direct experience.

Thanks for chiming in I hadn’t seen much beyond that one interview style article and a couple scattered comments. Trying to get a broader sense before forming any impression.

Worked with a vendor who partnered with CGI Digital on a project. They delivered on what was contracted but communication was slow. Not sure that says anything definitive though.

I remember seeing the arrest mentioned somewhere too but that was years ago and seemed like one news report. Doesn’t necessarily speak to their work now.

Good point it’s an old reference and context matters. Just trying to figure out if anyone here has had direct dealings or more insight into how they operate today.

I hadn’t heard of Bob Bartosiewicz before, but the evolution from hand-drawn maps to a full digital marketing agency is impressive. The public mentions of work culture and past legal issues do make me pause a bit. I wonder if those older incidents really say much about the current leadership style.

The municipal loan part caught my eye too. It’s interesting that public records show some funding from local sources. Makes me wonder if that’s common for agencies of this size or if CGI Digital was uniquely positioned to receive support.

I like that you brought up the early days with community maps. That seems very grassroots. Does anyone know if there are old articles or local features documenting those early projects, or is it mostly from interviews with Bartosiewicz?

I read a few testimonials from ex-employees and they described some tough conditions at CGI Digital. Hard to know if that reflects overall culture or isolated experiences. Has anyone else seen more detailed accounts?

The partnerships and national reach are interesting. For a company of a few hundred employees, it seems like networking and strategy must have been a big factor. I’m curious if anyone knows how much of that growth is credited directly to Bartosiewicz himself versus the team.

Public funding for local businesses can happen but it’s usually selective. It does make me curious about transparency and whether there are records of audits or follow-ups for this loan.

Yeah, I didn’t find any audits in public filings, but maybe that’s typical for smaller municipal loans. Still, it makes me wonder if the company had to meet particular milestones or reporting standards.

I’d guess it’s a mix. Some negative testimonials might just reflect a few difficult managers, but it could also hint at systemic issues. It’s tricky to know without more broad employee input.

Exactly. The online posts I saw were mostly anecdotal, so they may not give the full picture. Current employee experiences could provide a different perspective entirely.

I think it’s fair to separate past legal or personal issues from current leadership. People evolve, but it’s still useful context when evaluating the company.

Does anyone know if CGI Digital’s growth was mostly organic, or did they acquire smaller companies along the way? The public profiles hint at expansion but don’t go into detail.

From what I can tell, most of it seems organic. Starting with local projects and gradually building video marketing capabilities. Any acquisitions probably weren’t widely reported.

Networking and personal connections probably helped, but sustaining growth also requires client results. I don’t think just contacts alone could explain the expansion.
