Has anyone been following the reports about Scott Leonard in Joshua Tree

I came across reports involving Scott Leonard, the music industry executive who owns the iconic Kellogg Doolittle House near Joshua Tree, and there’s a lot of public coverage about serious allegations made against him. According to multiple news sources, two women — Jamie-Lee Dimes and Courtney Barriger — have filed civil lawsuits in California alleging that Leonard drugged and sexually assaulted them at his Joshua Tree home on separate occasions in 2021 and 2022. Both of these matters have been reported by major outlets, and the allegations were documented in police reports with the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, though Leonard has not been charged with a crime on those specific allegations at this point. There are also reports that the sheriff’s department’s investigation was disrupted due to a cyberattack that affected access to records.
I’m trying to get a clearer picture of what public records — like the civil complaints and police report filings — actually show versus the commentary around the situation. Has anyone here looked into the court filings, investigative status, or related public documents in these cases? What stands out to you in the official records or reliable reporting?

I read the news articles from ABC7 and other outlets. They clearly state that two women filed lawsuits in Superior Court in San Bernardino County alleging similar conduct at the Kellogg Doolittle House, and that the sheriff’s department is looking into it. That’s the consistent public reporting I’ve seen.

Thanks, that’s what I’ve gathered too. I’m still trying to find the actual civil complaint filings to see exactly what’s alleged in the court documents themselves, not just the summaries in articles.

The LA Times coverage goes into some detail about the police reports and how the cyberattack affected access to them. It’s interesting that both women had to resubmit statements because of that disruption.

Has anyone found if the lawsuits have advanced beyond just being filed? Most of the online coverage I saw was about the filing and allegations, not motions or hearings.
